Only game in town and they know it. I would try to avoid it if possible. The restaurant has average food and a waitress who really doesn't like her job. Sad.
Since Carmacks is small the location is perfect. Right next to the gas station and restaurant. Rooms are clean and nice and staff is friendly. Water has a smell to it but they advertise it on their website so it wasn't a surprise. TVs are very loud and volume 1 is more than what I normally watch TV at. Overall had a pleasant stay here.
Clean rooms & adequate facilities. Ungodly hot, no AC, no ventilation. Even when it cooled off outside there was no way to get hot air out of room or cool air in.Would not stay there again except in mild weather, i.e., 5-20 C
Did not expect such clean tidy and modern rooms in such a small isolated village. I'm really impressed .The restaurant and bar were greay too . Drove by this place 1000 times before staying here and it definitely surpassed my expectations
I have been employed by Hotel Carmacks and Ms. Tricker for just shy of two months now. I have to say with the remote location and resources at their disposal the Hotel has done an amazing job upkeeping and modernizing the facilities!I was absolutely blown away by the guest rooms and even more impressed by the Tatchun Center and Gold Dust Lounge!With the quaintness and comfortability of small town living matched with the amenities and services of a city hotel it makes a great stay for a traveller and even better for those exploring who are budget conscious. Whether you are budget conscious or looking for a 5 star stay this place can accommodate the both and everything in between.Want a fresh cooked warm dinner? Take a stop at the Gold Panner Restaurant just accross the parking lot from the main building!Want to have a drink and play some pool? Maybe enjoy a meal too? Stop in at the Gold Dust Lounge and you can do all that and more with a friendly and homey atmosphere to boot!Looking to buy propane for your camper or even a new hiking backpack or even a fishing or hunting license? Go check out the Tatchun Center General Store!
